“Casamacchia” and its’ surroundings total more than 5.000 mq., just a 5 minutes walk to the sandy beaches of Straccoligno and Naregno. The village of Capoliveri is at 3,5 km. distance. The beaches of Straccoligno and Naregno are situated at the beginning of the “Seagull Coast” (Costa dei Gabbiani) which marks one of the coastal stretches of the island still intact, holding forth innumerable beaches and coves left in their natural state.

From Piombino, you can take the ferry to Elba. The 10 km trip takes about 60 minutes. The ferries sail to the ports of both Portoferraio, Cavo and Rio Marina.

“Casamacchia” was designed and built in the 60’s as a work of art, of architectonic rendering by the artist Fritz Hagl. The houses which have been recently renovated, offer various options of stay.  Apartments in the main house (housing the atelier of Fritz Hagl) including an internal patio garden equipped with furnishings, fireplace, woodstove, B.B.Q. and intimate angles for relaxing outdoors. The house “Atelier” with pergola and B.B.Q. is ideal for the family.  The surrounding apartments offer a more private cottage in the woods, atmosphere and they include there own terrace with B.B.BQ., patio furnishings and panoramic views of Porto Azzurro.
